Reply to "Coal train switching/barge transloading operations in Pittsburgh"

Very cool.  I used to work just down river.  I was the power plant engineer at the horsehead zinc company for a few years.  That is the facility that transloaded our coal, but I never got to visit it.  In the waning years of the plant I worked at the fuel of choice was PRB coal.  It was shipped all the way from Wyoming by rail but the last few miles it came by barge.  Despite all the rails around,  the plant never built tracks and an unloading facility.   Thanks for sharing!
