Collision work on a Lionel N&W 611.....A hard hit!

my buddy’s 611 took a hit for the team....it wasn’t cracked, so it was worth a shot to see if we could make suitable repairs....first step was to remove th paint from the wrecked area to see what we were dealing with. Once we saw no cracks or breaks, we slowly heated the area in steps, moving the roof back to as close as it could get with out making things worse...Satisfied with the movement of the roof, we knew some fine details could not be saved at this time. So, they’ve been removed and will be added back on as separate applied details.....the object of the game now is to get back a slick smooth roof with no eveidence of repair...so, more than likely another swipe or two of fine fillers, fill primer and blocking.....so far so good...and stay tuned...we’re going to make this J into and excursion model, with the pretty gloss finish she wears in present day...this will be cool.........oh, and your welcome Sean....stop dropping your trains!
