Computer Connection Problem

Greetings all,

I'm looking for a little guidance. I'm attempting to upgrade my Legacy base and cab from v1.2 to v1.54 using my Dell laptop. I've tried two different serial-to-usb converters (Trendnet and Tera Grand, both highly rated on Amazon). When I plug the Legacy Y-cord into the Legacy base, the red light starts flashing slowly. When I connect the USB converter to the Y-cord, both the yellow and red lights start flashing slowly. They continue to flash after disconnecting the converter. If I attach the Y-cord to the computer via the USB end, the all of the Legacy base lights start flashing rapidly. No matter what setting I use on the LSU software, the computer will not recognize the Legacy base. After removing power from the base, and disconnecting the Y-cord the base will reset and just show a steady green light.

Any suggestions?

I'm anxious to run my Big Boy with full Legacy.
