First off, the old unit as it sits will NOT work with the PS/3 locomotive! The old one is strictly a conventional locomotive.

If you want to run them together, you'll have to convert the old one to PS/3 operation. You need to have at least PS/2 to successfully lash up with the new PS/3 locomotive.
