Happy Friday!
More Baldwin Progress.
I finished the injection pump linkage and piping (don't know it if will print) and then tackled the complex turbo charger and both intake and exhaust runs. I found a pretty sure fire way to do piping in SketchUp by running a single line over the path of the tubing, adding all it's curves and then using FOLLOW ME tool to have a circular profile follow the path creating a smoothly curving tube flow. Running them over and under each other took a bit of fussing.
First pic is the injector rack and fuel piping. Both of these will tie into control systems located at the block front.
Here's the intake pipe and exhaust spaghetti before adding the turbo to its end.
Left side of the turbo.
Right side of the turbo. Generator and exciter go onto the back power-takeoff area.
This is going to be a terrific O'scale model, but I haven't yet determined the best way to print it. I would certainly not want many supports in that injector area.
While not a 1:1 replication, the engine has the "right" feel. This is an in-line 6. I'm doing an 8. My intake routing is different. Perhaps I'm going to change it.
