Control trains at Roundhouse

Hi all,

My layout uses old school Flyer track, and conventional Flyer/Lionel transformers.

I have power feeds to my turn-table and my round house tracks are controlled with a rotary switch. But I don't like having to go to the transformer to control speed. I want to add a local control, but stay on same transformer power. I know I can add a separate transformer but like the simplicity of just one. Can someone recommend a Rheostat for to control the track voltage at the roundhouse? I have bought one that is junk, and one that is too big, specs were not clear.
