Yes, you'd have to convert them. They are a wee bit more expensive.
I wouldn't expect you to look into the brass. I posted the video in order to show what the more accurate cars look like.
With all the Ys and A engines out there, you'd think the big 3 would put out just a few more classes of accurate N&W hoppers.
