Could not post, lost a buying opportunity

There was a for sale ad for some DVDs that I wanted, so I wrote a post saying I would buy them. When I tried posting it I got a message saying it needed to be approved. I tried again and nothing happened; no post. Shortly after that, someone else posted they wanted to buy the DVDs. I checked my profile and it showed no pending posts.

Why could he post and I couldn't? Really wanted those DVDs.

NOTE: for those asking why I did not email him, he has no email in his profile.

ADDED: The topic was "Toy Trains on Tracks, The Black Diamond Railway dvd volumes I II & III "
