. Vastly reduced numbers, of course. There were no software engineers, neurosurgeons, airline pilots, etc. in the early part of the 20th century. In the mid to late 21st century there will be all sorts of jobs, some not yet even guessed at, to replace the current large number of retail clerks, truck drivers, toll booth attendants and so on who may be reduced in number but still around in smaller numbers after further technical advances.
"There are still pilots, engineers, doctors, dispatchers, and plant operators."
And they are all heavily dependent on computers for their work, and their work is more effective, efficient and safer because of these computers in almost all ways.
