Do any of you have two versions of the same locomotive from say, Lionel and MTH and have had some operation time to make some impartial comments? Thinking of the recent N&W J Class in Legacy and PS3 or perhaps the recent Big Boys from both companies. Also their newest F and E units. Am prompted to ask this because of the many posts in the last year or two citing issues and complaints about various Lionel Legacy models that have paint problems, static sounds, and other operational issues. Especially overall quality control. Most have stated that 'for many years now that Lionel is the clear leader in sound' but from what I'm reading about the new E8's, their sound seems to be getting worse! Any input would be most appreciated and enlightening.
By contrast, I see very few posts complaining about MTH products...
