Reply to "Curves for the Bachmann Forney"

Hello, SGP.  I don't have the Forney, but I did some research on it and it is very hard to nail down a min. radius for this engine.  I went to bachmann.com, clicked on the "ask the Bachmann" link and then clicked on On30 and started searching through the pages.  Finialy, on page 9 at the bottom of the page,  (it may be 10 when you read this) there is a post titled Need Help..Forney Loco Rear Coupler.  Read the entire post and it lists some solutions for this engine.  You didn't say what radius curves you now have but in the Model Railroad News Magazine (now out of business), for Novenber, 2007, Vol.13, issue 11, they reviewed it.  They ran it on 22 inch radius curves with no issues.  As far as adjusting flex track, you'll have to remove it and using a tramel set for 22 or larger radius, draw a centerline for the track and relay it.  Oh, and MRN ran it through #6 switches, code 83 rail.  Hope this helps you.
