I used #14 THHN stranded wire from Home Depot. At the time, it was the cheapest pure copper wire I could locate. I used #18 wire for the short drops from the track to the main bus wiring.

Don't get roped into using the CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) wire, it's junk!
