Thank you for these responses. As I understand, I do not need to isolate (insert gaps) in the outside (ground) rail for the DCS signal.

Then why is twisted pair wire recommended in Barry's books?
Would DCS work well with star wiring to center rail blocks with bus wiring for outer rail (ground)? This would avoid the use of expensive twisted pair wire.
