Des Plaines Hobbies 52-ft Thrall Gondolas Are in Stock

Des Plaines Hobbies now has the 52-ft Thrall gondolas in stock. There are five road names, each with three numbers: Canadian Pacific, Gondola Connection, CSXT, DJ Joseph Transportation, and DME. The ready-to-run S scale models come with high-rail wheels and American Flyer compatible couplers, but it is easy to swap out the wheels for scale wheels. The design also makes it easy to replace the AF-style couplers with Kadee 802 or 808 couplers. Ron Sebastian is introducing these freight cars as modern rolling stock to complement the more modern locomotives available in S scale such as the American Flyer SD70ACe and ES44AC models. As with other S Scale American models, I expect these to be highly detailed and very free rolling freight cars.
