The LIRR ran lot's of different power during this period. They had many FA/B sets, most second hand from other RR's. They also used ALCO RS-3's and C-420's as power. The Scoot trains used FA's equipped with cab controls in a push-pull config so that they didn't have to turn trains at the terminals. These locos were re-built by GE to provide 650 VDC only. The traction motors were removed as well.
