Did you make your own bridge supports ?

I have 2 Menards bridges that will need some kind of support in the center 8 13/16" above the surface below. My first thought was to sandwich 2 pieces of pink foam and then carve individual stones. I've pretty much ruled that out because of the carving. Suggestions with pics would be a big help.
