Do MPC-era LIONEL EP-5s have horns?

I noticed my Pennsy Little Joe - has no horn?

Is that the stock condition?

Also - the little sockets that hold the headlights look like bakelite plastic (more like I'd expect in a postwar frame) - I thought they'd be metal on the MPC stuff.
