Why?
Because, most all the motel/hotel rooms have been sold out (some at exorbitant prices) for more than a year. In addition to the "Big Event", other rail oriented organizations are having their annual conventions there in Ogden at the same time, i.e. the NRHS and UP Historical Society.
Plus, where would such "Toy Train Manufacturers" set up to show their products? Certainly not with the UP displays.
Lastly, in my opinion, the vast majority of the people coming from all over the world for this "Big Event" are NOT model railroaders nor toy train collectors.
