Does the R2LC effect functionality?

Hi ,

Without going into all the whys and wherefores I am looking at an early TMCC Lionmaster steam engine with a fan smoke unit. It wouldn't run.

I have followed advice from here and changed out the radio board from another engine as a test - a R2LC13 from a Berk JR with mechanical smoke puffer

Engine now runs great - all functions are there except smoke- is this influenced by the radio board? It should have an "08". Thanks.
