Hi John,

Yes I did a full reset. I didn't have a replacement "08" board but remembered in answer to another thread that It was possible to test with a different board of higher number - hence my using the R2LC13.

I was hoping that the "13" wouldn't operate the fan smoke unit in which case the nice simple fix would be to get a new R2LC08 from Lionel.

Is this the case do you know?
