Thanks John and GGG for the extra info. Moved switch a number of times just in case it was sticking. There is no heat and no fan running. I know the fan works because I tested it separately. Wick not discolored particularly.
You may wonder why I am messing around with all this given my recent posts/experience with a Lionmaster SD90 and smoke units a week or so ago!! (thanks for your help there as well)
Short answer is I bought of the Bay an early TMCC Lionmaster T1 (sorry dont Have number to hand) Everything about it was great for the good price I paid but on arrival did not run or smoke. Vendor disputes this and we are "in discussion"
It was partly my fault - after checking everything again I got the loco to work with the origional R2LC08 board - but it has signal issues and still no smoke. So I am back with my spare C13 board hence he original question re the smoke operation.Smoke unit heat or fan have never functioned. The guy I bought it from says it ran fine before shipping and that it can't be at fault as I have all the other functions particularly the rear coupler functioning perfectly.
The vendor looks to be an honest seller and I also know these things can just stop working after a good shake up by UPS!!
Overall I am happy with the engine but although that might sound mad - you just can't get these things in England. hence all the Qs.
I will try another reset + control the smoke output through TMCC and check the switch is on and report back.
