Thanks for you good words. Several years ago, Jim Barrett did an article about using thin plywood from National Balsa Wood products. I forget what I used for thickness but it worked pretty well. Al Zomorski posted way back in 2012 that he gets his concrete paint by the quart from Home Depot. This is what I use all around the layout for concrete....looks good and is very cheap.
