I buy generic tools where they work, fiber cutoff wheels are a good example. I have used many Dremel cutoff wheels, but the generic ones I get work just as well and last just as long. Since I get 100 for the price of five Dremel brand, it's a no-brainer.
I've been using my set of carbide burrs for years, I bought them on eBay for very little money. They're as sharp as when I bought them, and they've chewed up a LOT of diecast material.
