I agree, I doubt it was the setup, the post war engine doesn't care about transients, wouldn't care about a surge unless it was really huge ( w post war engines, the circuit breaker on the transformer kind of protects them too).

Btw the quote is not Mr Spock, that is classic Sherlock Holmes.I don't know if Spock ever used that or not,but Data on Next Generation did.
