Hello,

I know its been awhile since I last posted. We put a capacitor on the transformer power terminals and that slightly decreases the EMI, allowing me to run my most inexpensive engine at very low speeds.   We tried HO, running O off a DC battery and  shielding, and none of them resolved the issue.

FOREST,

I am going to try a MTH engine in the Protosound 2 or 3 system, as I heard that they run the cleanest of all. The problem with the Protosound 3, is the DCS and DCC are WIFI, and that is a problem.

My question is, can I completely disable the DCS and DCC and still run the engines conventionally?

I appreciate all the help.

Thank You.

If you are OK with IR Remotes you can operate PS3 engines with a DCS Remote Commander:

The IR Remote sends infrared signals:

which are received by the base unit. It then produces the DCS signal which is transmitted through the rails:

Cheap too at abt $50. The downside is that you can only run one engine. Of course, as with a TV you must point the remote more-or-less at the receiver.
