However, we have a winner this time! From Crowdstack Tech Support a few minutes ago:
In this case, your user found a bug! The file he uploaded had a "(" in the filename. Once it was inserted into the post body, Crowdstack converted to "[", and that broke it. We've filed this as a bug, but don't have an ETA on a fix, as yet. A workaround for now would be just not to use a file name with "(" in it.

As a point of continuing education, it’s not good practice to use punctuation marks in file names. Underlines and dashes are OK, but anything else should not be used in file or folder names.
