Thank you Dave! I wasn't planning on going legacy but this little locomotive with a bug might lead me to it since it can't be fixed. (assuming it can't be fixed or swapped with an updated code?)

One thing lead to another is my experience so far in this hobby haha, I have a feeling I should/will take gunrunner's and your advice and upgrade now to one of the transformers you are mentioning.
