ERR DC Commander or Cruise Commander

In the past I have always had the cruise commander put in. I love the operation. Always nice and smooth.

I have no experience with the DC commander, which doesn't have cruise. My layout is flat. I do know that at the extreme end there is less power than the other areas.

Is DC commander likely to give me a smooth, consistent speed or am I likely to need to get the cruise commander? Please reply only if you have actual experience with the DC commander.
