ESU Loksound in Hi-Rail O Gauge

I've really loved the sounds of some of the HO decoders. I found ESU Loksound has decoders designed for O Scale (2 rail) but operate conventionally on AC power. Is it possible to put in say, an MTH engine? Anybody ever try?
