Actually LJ, LokSound are some of the more affordable decoders for HO and N scale, A LokSound Select decoder will run you less than $100 for HO and N and since they have a spike load limit of 1.5 amps for the motor you could use them on some O scale locos. They are much more expensive for larger trains and the LokSound XL will run you about $300. I use them quite a bit in HO and N scale installs for customers because I get great sound and lots of volume for the money.
