We have seen several posts here on the forum, and fielded some calls about upcoming LCT/MTH STD Gauge tinplate sets in development.
Here are the basics…MTH wants to produce a limited run of 400e/Comet Car sets. In order to meet minimum manufacturing quantities, they offered select dealers an opportunity to participate.
At Sidetrack Hobbies, we are taking this opportunity to bring four (4) exclusive sets to market. We want to do something special….roads never done in tinplate….and roads/liveries that have meaning to us. These sets include:
• Chesapeake & Ohio
• Chicago & Northwestern
• Union Pacific (Commemorating the Golden Spike 150th Anniversary in 2019)
• Christmas
Our sets are exclusive to Sidetrack Hobbies and limited to (10) locomotive & (10) matching 4-Comet car sets in each livery. These will be sold as a complete set only.
In addition to our sets, a handful of dealers have agreed in principle to market and sell other specialty sets. While still in development, these sets include:
Southern (Green)
Baltimore & Ohio
Pennsylvania (Brown)
Two-Tone Blue w/Brass Trim
US Army
Santa Fe (Black)
Contact your local/regional (or favorite) tinplate dealer to see if they are participating.
(Note: We will also be selling a few of these other non-exclusive sets.)
We are working with MTH daily on design/production to ensure these sets become a reality. We hope you will be as excited about these sets as we are.
