I just ran across this thread as it was mentioned in another. This is a minor point, but you might be interested - my General Models Pacific came with screws for both the engine and tender, requiring me to remove the head of one so that the locomotive and tender could be split easily. Since I don't have a lathe, I just put the screw in my drill and used a file to remove the head - it worked well. All-Nation kits may have been the same way, but I don't know. The instructions don't mention removing the head, so I assume they intended for you to unscrew one of them to separate the engine and tender.
