One was "The Red Caboose", it was like 23 West 46th st. You had to take a phone booth size elevator to the 3rd floor for it... I don't recall much in the way of O there, but lots and lots of HO.
The other one was just about across the street and in a basement. It's name slips me. Not quite as cramped but a long skinny affair with a lot of NYC stuff.
Hadn't been to them since the 1990's but they were neat.
