To immobilize the pilot you can back out the two frame to body flat head screws at the back edge of the pilot and replace them with similar thread longer screws with pan heads and they will immobilize the pilot. I use Kadee 5s on scale 38” radius curves and works fine and removes vertical motion that caused trains to break.
