Reply to "Flag Day"

Regarding Stephen Driver mentioned by Tinplate Art:

He rescued the mutineers of the Bounty.

Friends presented him with a 24-star flag, which is the flag he first referred to as "Old Glory!" as unfurled for the first time at sea. Because he lived Nashville during the Civil War, he kept the flag hidden during the war.

The flag has an anchor appliqued in the lower-right corner of the canton. ("Old Glory" may no longer be opened up to be photographed, and no color photograph is available.)
