Getting started with a Powermaster and CAB1L remote

OK all, I am getting started using a Legacy Powermaster 360 and a Legacy Cab1L remote. Honestly I am finding the instructions confusing on some areas. My first question is if the Powermaster is set to the command switch position and the power is turned on on the 2 Powerhouse bricks will power automatically be applied to the track or does the Powermaster need to be "turned on" from the Cab1l? Also is there an on/off switch on the Cab1 or does it just go to sleep?
