I had the chance to talk to the GDD folks at York about the S-Gauge passenger cars. It appears they don't have enough orders to make a run (at least not yet). I was disappointed to hear that the person I talked too didn't know anything about the planned AF "Shorty" version of the cars. The impression I got was they would run the cars if they got a sufficient number of orders. Obviously, they didn't mention how many that would be...
