Gift Hints for Loved Ones?

I have a large family (2 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 parents). We all celebrate Christmas and like to exchange gifts. I don't like Christmas wish lists...in fact, I despise them. If you know me, love me, and spend time with me, you know what would make me happy. And vice versa! So, I'm sure I'll be getting train-related gifts this year. How do you carefully hint at what you would like so you don't end up with a bunch of rolling stock that doesn't really fit your vision? I've been using Pinterest for specific things. What about those non-specific things such as: "anything Bethlehem Steel", or "no boxcars commemorating specific events that I was not a part of (i.e. TCA 2004)"
