UP 4-6-6-4 challenger imported by Tenshodo in 1999 repair (cont) and CNJ 4-6-4T disassembly.

==========

UP 4-6-6-4 challenger 'touch up' painting.

Black on the 'piping', red on the valve handles and brass on, well, the brass!

It, usually, takes about 3 'touch ups' plus 2 hours at 200 degrees, each time.

======================

CNJ 4-6-4T imported by PFM (UNITED) in 1969.

Some warm weather for the next few days so I decided to paint this engine.

It's all black so should be an easy 'paint job'.

CNJ 4-6-4T PFM 03

Drilled out all the headlights and marker lights for LED's using a #57 drill bit in my hobby drill press.

CNJ 4-6-4T PFM 15

These old engines are built sturdy so no worry about 'twisting' the marker lights while drilling them.

CNJ 4-6-4T PFM 16

2 holes drilled under the running boards.

CNJ 4-6-4T PFM 17

Tender head light drilled and drilled 'right through' the marker lights into the back of the tender so it will be easy to insert the LED's.
