Springfield, Ohio train show, NMRA MCR DIV 7 meeting layout visits and 'booty'.
===========
A great day: 9 hours of train 'stuff'
Springfield, Ohio train show. A 'one day' show.
Miles: 60
2 large halls plus another large hall connecting the 2 buildings: at the 'fair grounds'.
1st building.
Some really old stuff.
Arnald had a hobby shop in Middletown, Ohio back last century.
For those who collects old stuff.
My first HO train was a Gilbert Hudson (with smoke) freight set in a beveled box.
Something different.
Dual gauge on this layout.
Pre war: don't know if it was restored but 'looks' mint.
Center hall between the 2 buidings.
I believe this was N narrow gauge.
2nd building.
A few S gauge scale stuff.
Americana:
Xenia, Ohio.
Huge ranch house.
Believe this is a twin beachcraft D-18 on the 'front lawn'!

NMRA MCR DIV 7 meeting.
Went to the meeting after the train show.

Functioning 'lift pins'.
My HO steam has 1 spring per axle, this has 3!

A 'timer' routes the layout to 'night'.

Booty.
Picked up a Con-Cor PRR aero train plus a 3 car 'add on'
He had a very reasonable price for the set. I, probably, could have gotten it a little cheaper but I gave him what he asked as I didn't want to 'insult him' since he, initially, offered a very good price for them.
Brand new, never been used.
Made in 2008. The 2 sets weren't cheap back in 2008 as they listed for $650 for the 2 sets.
Had all the 'paper work'.
3 car 'add on'.
Surprised how heavy the engine weighed!
Male end.
Female end.
Very cool: magnets pulled the 2 cars together. Nice 'closed' fit between cars.
Will need to get a decoder for them.
I have the Con-Cor Burlington set where I installed a TCS WOW diesel decoder.
===========
Did pick up 2 freight cars.
The box is an all metal from the 50's and the covered hopper is a nice all wood kit.
