The main characteristics of the GN steam were:

flying airpumps on the smokebox.

belpaire fireboxes (Pennsy only other railroad that used them in large numbers).

glacier park colors (green boilers, red cab roofs)

vanderbilt tenders (cylindrical)

low mounted headlights (when pumps on smokebox)
