Hello Wind-Up Guy,

Thanks, this is great info. Thought something like what you have described happened. The mainspring certainly looks like it "blew up". I have a lead on a replacement motor, but if, it's the same story, as mine. I would certainly be interested in working something out with you. I'll let you know what happens!
