It is said that when UP's Global One/Proviso is full, traffic can back up to central Iowa. The US rail system can be compared to the human circulatory system......a blockage in one section impacts the entire system eventually. Same in the airline industry. Northwestern University has a masters degree major in automobile traffic management and they employ the circulatory system as their model.
