Hi All,

We have a MTH DMIR Yellowstone model 20-3030-1that is being crabby.  It will not run, at all anymore.  I have been through the forum posts that I can find on the topic.  Replaced the $12.00 9 volt battery, checked the connection on the harness on both boards in the engine and the tender, made sure all the boards are seated, checked all the connections in the tender, did a factory reset on the sound board.  When we try to run it in conventional mode it just cycles some sound that I have never heard.  To be honest this is an engine that we don't run very often because it has always been a little flakey, but it has never just not worked.

Anyone out there have any ideas?  It's kind of sad to have this nice of a product that we can't run and just have as a paperweight.

Thanks all.

Did you charge the new battery for at least 14 hours? If not the battery needs to be charged before using, the new battery must be charged before being installed in a PS-2 engine. I recommend the MTH wall charger(can be bought for less then $20.00 at most major hobby shops) for this as track charging is too dangerous where I live because of power fluctuations or interruptions.
