Some things to consider about the MTH Premier J is that you don't have to get a second hand paint job and the headlight bezel is painted correctly, but, the handrail stantions are not (at least on the above mentioned version #20-3133-1). It also has lubricator linkage that the Lionel version has never had. IMO, on the outside, the MTH is the better looking J.
Then again, sound does matter and Lionel has 'em beat there!
