With all the pictures, it's hard to tell what wires we're taking about since we don't get a view of the wires as much as the fingers.

The resistor is easy, break out your ohmmeter!

I'd suspect the black wire would match the black wire on the other side of the connector, but I never could see what color the other disconnected wire is.
