You also want to replace the 6 ohm resistor with an 8 ohm smoke resistor. The 6 ohm resistors were killing the regulators, too much power.
John, THANK you for answering my question!!! I was really hoping this would catch your attention. I'm glad the regulator is listed on Lionel's parts list (I guess I'll go ahead and fork over the $30 for it.) I know ZERO about doing this sort of work, but hopefully I can also just go ahead & find an 8 ohm resistor on the Lionel list, too. There's no sense in me trying to possibly find it somewhere else cheaper (or being forced into buying 10 of them!) LOL! Thank you again!
