The nominal charge of a Li-Ion 9V rechargeable is 7.4 volts, I'd think that would marginal in the PS/2 application. Most of the 9V LiIon batteries I find have something similar to this ad as far as charging.

I don't think I'll be putting these in any of my locomotives.
