Very frustrating ! So I made a test layout and inserted the number 313, indicating a bascule bridge. I was able to figure out how to make the numbers show up in black. All well and good.

Next I opened up the layout I've been working on and did the same thing. But when I go to colorize the text, using the very same method as the test layout, the number 313 is replaced by the word TEXT.
