If you are using Testors plastic cement, it will not work on wood. Testors cement welds styrene plastic together bu melting the plastic and then it re-hardens as one piece. A strong bond but only works on plastic. I suggest you get some Plastruct or Evergreen plastic rods and try them. Paint them after gluing. Testors makes a glue for windows that won't fog the windows like regular plastic cement will.
